Tom Beard - Manufacturing Systems

Tom Beard has over 25 years of experience in various manufacturing positions and small business ownership and operations. Roles in manufacturing include assembly supervision, scheduling and planning, warehousing, manufacturing engineering, operations management and general manager. Tom presents a holistic, integrated approach to help organizations remain globally competitive by identifying improvement opportunities that are economically sustainable, technologically feasible and operationally viable.
Tom’s efforts include work with municipalities, universities, and manufactures to implement and audit the ISO Standards for Quality, Environmental and Energy Management Systems. Some of his customers include: Motorola, Pilgrim’s Pride Chicken, Manda Machine, Atlas Copco Drilling Solutions, Applegate EDM, City of Dallas, City of Waco and dB Engineering.
Tom has working relationships and has partnered with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), the U.S. Department of Energy and Texas Industries of the Future to provide training and on-site assistance for developing and delivering “E 3” Assessments to both municipalities and manufacturers. He has delivered the Green Suppliers Network (GSN), a partnership with the EPA, NIST MEP, and OEMs process improvement program for multiple companies in the US.
Other systems applications include TS 16949, AS 9100 Quality Management Systems, TCEQ Clean Texas Programs and OSHA 18000 General Industry safety training. Tom also partners with the Industrial Assessment Center at Texas A & M to deliver utility and energy management onsite assessments and programs to reduce utility costs and promote the use of the Department of Energy Tools for utility reduction efforts.
Tom holds a certification from the Global Reporting Initiative. He is currently working on efforts to help customers understand the value of GRI reporting to substantially reduce or eliminate negative environmental impacts, reduce operating costs and increase workers’ productivity through high- performance, market-leading innovation.
Tom has a B.S. from Texas A & M University and a Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies in Sustainability form the University of Texas at Arlington.
