Matt Shaffstall, MPA, CECD - Economic Development

Matt Shaffstall is the economic development specialist for the City of Richland Hills.  Matt is responsible for all aspects of the city’s economic development efforts including business retention & expansion, business recruitment & attraction, small business & entrepreneur development, and tourism & marketing for the city.  Matt does everything from incentive negotiations for multi-national companies to helping high school students through the permitting process to open a snow cone stand.  Matt has worked for the cities of Dallas and Hillsboro and is also a former high school speech teacher.  Matt holds a Masters in Public Administration from the University of North Texas, where he also obtained a degree in Communications Studies and Political Science.  Matt was recently recognized by the International Economic Development Council and named a Certified Economic Developer.
