The Mission:
To identify and facilitate the commercialization of great ideas which address 1. Energy Efficiency, 2. Clean Energy, 3. Clean Air, 4. Clean Water, 5. Healthy Food. Growing strong, viable companies that focus on one or more of the above can create sustainable jobs and promote economic stability.
Theory for Social & Economic Change:
At EARTH NT we are product and program agnostic. In other words, we do not believe there is any one way to solve the complex problems we face. In the manner of basic science, we must test, implement and evaluate in a continuous development cycle.
The transformation of the energy infrastructure and the sustainability of the biosphere are the defining challenges of our time. The solutions to these challenges can be found in so many places, including universities, business incubators, small businesses and individuals. Green Jobs require commercially viable companies and the market demand to make them move. EARTH-NT is creating the roadmap for sustainable cities and helping to pave the way for the market transformation to guide it.
In any economic climate, bringing a start-up company/idea into the market place is challenging. We want to magnify the tools necessary to lessen that risk and bridge the gap from great concept to viable business. Our focus will be at an entrepreneurial level and we have partnered with Universities, Community Colleges, Private sector experts, Tech incubators, and non-profits to create a collaborative network of expertise.
The tag line for EARTH NT is: Do Good Make Money
As a Nation we need to demonstrate to the world the Business Case for Sustainability. When we do this we create a stronger economic engine, a sustainable economy and re-establish our leadership.
EARTH NT Program Design and Implementation for three years:
I. Develop a commercialization center within a centralized campus.
The physical location, the HUB, will be a laboratory/showcase for the great ideas that are going on inside the walls. There are aging Industrial Parks and abandoned urban tracts of land all over this country which can be reclaimed, repurposed and transformed into productive use. These include Brownfield and flood plain that can be transformed into sustainable business HUBs, energy stations and urban agricultural development.
II. Provide urban development solutions.
One of the greatest challenges in urban planning for the 21st century is that cities are some of the largest consumers of energy and some of the largest producers of greenhouse gases. It is therefore imperative that a new generation of urban development solutions focus on the sustainable integration of the six fundamental parts of any urban infrastructure: energy, water, food, buildings, transportation and communications. These complex problems of sustainability facing any urban area demand the convergence of large teams with coordinated and magnifying effects at a physical location, a HUB. EARTH-NT is implementing cutting-edge green urban planning practices in purchasing and developing our identified site. We are pioneering a 21st century green development model that is mindful of future growth with respect to energy, resource and building systems.
III. Develop a Virtual- Networking HUB
Big energy problems require collaborative global networks to solve them. EARTH NT is developing information architecture and systems engineering to contribute solutions to these monumental challenges.
